Objectives
- Increased interest among active citizens and local CSOs on breaches of human rights, democracy and the rule of law in Moldova with the focus on justice sector and anti-corruption;
- Awareness raising among the journalists, students and legal specialists to demand for judicial independence;
- Engage a critical mass of Moldovan professionals to get inspiration from prominent experts.
- Build capacities of the integrity inspectors to proper investigate the assets and interests of civil servants.
Activities
- Organize debates for the interested public and active local CSOs;
- Movie screening and debates for journalists, students and legal specialists;
- A three days conference in Romania for representatives of the legal professions focusing on rule of law;
- Organize capacity building for integrity inspectors with foreign experts (in Romania and Moldova).
Results
- We organized 12 movie screenings of the series „Gazing into the soul” about the profession of judge with the participation of more than 480 students, lawyers, probation counselors, journalists.
- We organized 9 public debates on profession of judge, integrity and anticorruption with national experts with the participation of more than 200 school students from Balti, Cahul, Causeni, Comrat, Soroca.
- We discussed with 88 residents from Hincesti, Briceni, Anenii Noi raions on the society’s role in combatting corruption and ensuring a democratic state.
- We facilitated exchange of experience and good practices between 95 judges, integrity inspectors and prosecutors from Moldova and Romania.
- About 15 national and international experts (LRCM, EFOR, judges, integrity inspectors and other professionals) offered their expertise.
