Contribute to the improvement of the level of observance of human rights in Moldova through the effective implementation of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) judgments by Moldova
Objectives
- Advocate for effective regulations for execution of ECtHR judgments by Moldova and for effective compliance with general measures resulting from ECtHR judgments;
- Increase abilities of judges and lawyers to apply the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) at the domestic level and make lawyers more efficient in challenging at the national level the deficient judicial practices;
- Advocate for changing the Moldovan rules and practices that are inconsistent with ECHR, through advocacy at the Committee of Ministers of the CoE and litigation at the ECtHR.
Activities
- Contribute to the elaboration of the new Rules on execution and oversight of execution of ECtHR judgments;
- Organize seminars for judges on ECHR;
- Organize in-depth seminars for lawyers on ECHR;
- Provide assistance to lawyers on domestic application of ECHR;
- Advocate at the domestic level and at the Council of Europe for execution of specific categories of ECtHR judgments;
- Involve in strategic litigation before the ECtHR;
- Assess the execution by Moldova of ECtHR judgments delivered until 2013.
