Contribute to effective implementation of the Justice Sector Reform Strategy (JSRS) in Moldova

 

Objectives

  • Provide the national decision-makers involved in JSRS implementation with analysis and recommendations for effective implementation of reform of judiciary from the perspective of courts’ displacement map and judges’ specialization;
  • Provide the national decision-makers involved in JSRS implementation with analysis and recommendations for effective implementation of the reform of prosecution office in Moldova from the perspective prosecutors’ offices organization and liability of prosecutors;
  • Provide the national decision-makers involved in JSRS implementation with analysis and recommendations for effective execution of ECtHR judgments.

Activities

  • Developing the Study to restructure the court displacement map to strengthen institutional capacity, optimize the number of judges and ensure a more effective use of available resources;
  • Developing the Study on the need to specialize judges in specific cases;
  • Developing the Study on optimizing the number of prosecutors and support staff within the prosecution service;
  • Translation, editing, publication and launching of the report on execution of ECtHR judgments concerning Moldova;
  • Round tables for presenting the studies on court optimization and on specialization of judges  – 3 round tables, one for each region: South, Center and North;
  • One round table in Chișinău for presenting the Study on optimizing the number of prosecutors and support staff within the prosecution service.

  • Study on optimization of the judicial map in the Republic of Moldova
  • Study  on specialization of judges and feasibility of creating administrative courts in the Republic of Moldova
  • Study on optimisation of the structure of the prosecution service and of the number of prosecutors in the Republic of Moldova
