The Legal Resources Centre from Moldova (LRCM) cordially invites all the interested to the presentation of the Public Policy Document “Anti-corruption court – is it necessary in the Republic of Moldova?”, which aims to assist national authorities in the decision-making process on the need and opportunity to create an anti-corruption court in the Republic of Moldova.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 28 October 2020, between 10.00-11.30, on the ZOOM platform and will be broadcast LIVE on PRIVESC.eu. The connection link will be sent later to all the registered people.
The analysis describes the context and national policy documents that provide for the initiative to set up the anti-corruption court and analyzes the risk factors that could jeopardize the need for such an initiative. The document also refers to the experience of some European states where such specialized courts are in place, without a systemic assessment of their performance, but highlighting some results and challenges encountered by the courts in these countries. The document also reflects the need to strengthen the functional capacity of the corruption investigation body by changing its powers. The preliminary agenda of the event is attached.
