A group of lawyers from the Republic of Moldova strengthens their knowledge in the field of media law, in order to provide quality and timely legal services to journalists. The activity takes place within a training program organized by the Legal Resources Centre from Moldova (LRCM), in collaboration with the Center for Independent Journalism. The training program is designed as a response to the urgent need to defend the rights and interests of journalists in the Republic of Moldova who face flagrant violations of their rights.
The trainers of the program are Dragoș CUCEREANU, lawyer at the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) and Vladislav GRIBINCEA, Executive Director of the LRCM. They will talk to participants about freedom of expression and interference with this right, freedom of expression versus other rights, as well as the ECtHR case law on freedom of expression in Moldovan cases.
The training is also attended by journalists who offer examples from their professional experience, helping to raise awareness of the problems that mass media encounters in the Republic of Moldova.
The training is organized within the project “Institutional support for Organizational development” implemented by the LRCM and financed by Sweden.
